Working in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, the Habitat ReStore sells donated building materials to the general public for up to 75% off retail price. Sales from the Habitat ReStore provide enough income to build two Habitat for Humanity homes in Dane County a year.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting the manager in the day-to-day operations of the Habit for Humanity (HFH) ReStore outlet.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the storage and processing areas.
- Supervise volunteers.
- Assist with donation screening and pick-ups.
- Processing, pricing and merchandising of donations.
- Serve as a back-up driver.
- Manage the store in the absence of the Director and Manager.
- Operate and service the forklift, truck and other Habitat ReStore equipment.
- Provide customer service when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of HFH. Qualified candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and the ability to multi-task. This individual must be detail-oriented and able to work independently. Must be able to remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor.
Minimum of 2 years construction, retail, or volunteer supervision experience required.
Physical Demands:
Required to lift up to 70 pounds on a regular basis and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion. This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.).
