Northwest Service Academy seeks a member to join our existing Restoration Field Team, sponsored by the City of Gresham.
The Butler Creek Team Member will be the team's main point of contact for neighbors, contractors, and staff in removing and restoring encroachments in the Butler Creek Natural Area. This position will work closely with the other team members to accomplish this goal through outreach, education, and volunteer projects, with the wider goal of improving homeowners' awareness and stewardship of the city's natural areas.
The Restoration Team is a small, versatile team whose purpose is to develop a strategy for addressing the unique challenges that are the result of an open interface between public natural lands and private property. As a member of the City of Gresham Parks & Recreation Division, you will gain broad experience in community outreach, environmental restoration, project management, and teamwork. Through public outreach and the maintenance and restoration of Gresham's greenways, the team will nurture a more open, positive, and mutually beneficial relationship between the City of Gresham, its residents, and their natural environment.
The position starts April 14, 2008. Benefits include a monthly stipend of $1,009 before taxes, health insurance, a $4,725 AmeriCorps education scholarship, loan forbearance, childcare allowance and many training opportunities.
