Responsibilities:
- Conducting resource conservation audits for commercial and industrial customers, identifying energy and water conservation opportunities and calculating financial returns (including utility rebates) and paybacks associated with those opportunities,
- Initiating business development opportunities with local utilities and business clients.
- Participating in climate change related work such as: conducting carbon footprint assessments, developing additional quantitative tools to measure emissions and model the costs and benefits of specific mitigation strategies.
- Developing and providing expertise to clients related to purchasing more efficient energy consuming products, improving operation and maintenance practices, and various carbon registries/offsets.
- Developing new quantitative tools to assist clients in assessing their sustainability impacts, setting goals and targets and measuring their progress with indicators and metrics.
- Assisting with providing strategic and management consulting services to clients that links environmental performance, including climate change, to achieving corporate outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) or Certified Building Operator (CBO) designation desired.
- LEED certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of energy and water conservation opportunities and technologies appropriate for commercial and institutional applications.
- Ability to articulate cost savings resulting from energy/water conservation initiatives/technologies in terms of payback periods, ROI, and other metrics commonly used to justify capital expenditures by business professionals.
- Proven success securing new business and interest in fostering partnerships with other firms and agencies.
- Ability to translate technical information into written reports, presentations and proposals that appeal to customers.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Compensation: Salary DOE; compensation is competitive within the resource conservation management consulting field.
