Position Overview:

Clean Currents is expanding to the Philadelphia area in the Fall and seeks an Outreach Coordinator to establish and build our residential presence. This team member should be a Pennsylvania native (or have lived in the state for many years), have experience in community organizing and/or sales, and knowledge of the clean energy industry and/or electricity markets. About Our Community Programs:
The Green Neighborhood Challenge (GNEC) is Clean Currents' hallmark community engagement program for groups to get involved in clean energy, fundraise, and help build a more sustainable community. The Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting a diverse range of community groups (community associations, school clubs, faith-based organizations, etc.), educating residents about clean energy and living sustainably, and inspiring individuals to be part of the clean energy movement.
Responsibilities:
The Residential Outreach Coordinator will report to the Residential Team Manager of Clean Currents (located in the Silver Spring office). S/he will be responsible for developing a "campaign plan" that will include concrete sales goals, media, and marketing strategies. Also, s/he will travel the area, speaking to groups about the program, and organizing booths to promote the program at local festivals and conferences. S/he will be expected to recruit interns and/or volunteers and to manage them. S/he will speak to the media about the program as well as customers and potential customers. S/he is also responsible for the daily operations of the residential program in our Pennsylvania territories.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Demonstrated organizing and/or sales ability
- Persuasive verbal and written communications skills
- Passion for the environment
- High energy and proactive
- Ability to speak in front of large groups
