We work with dozens of utilities on such programs and extend a full scope of services to the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® programs.
Position Overview:
To support our growth, we seek a Residential Energy Efficiency QA/QC Specialist to work on our Massachusetts programs. The selected candidate will coordinate all quality assurance activities which include but may not be limited to: reviewing project plans and specifications, REM file analyses, and conducting field inspections. In addition, they will schedule and conduct Quality Assurance / Quality Control audits with participating program contractors, and assist with the development and implementation of QA/QC programs, plans, and procedures.
They will also conduct QA investigations of nonconforming program contractors and coordinate corrective actions, maintain QA records using physical hard copies and/or electronic files and prepare quarterly reports.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (Engineering or Building Science) or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with residential energy modeling programs required
- Extensive building science knowledge using the "house as a system" approach required
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Ability to accurately perform complete range of residential building diagnostic tests including whole house air infiltration, duct leakage and thermal imaging among others
- Ability to effectively communicate technical building science information to non-technical audience
- Ability to keep and maintain detailed records and provide accurate information for program reports
- Ability to mentor and support contractors, developers and HERS raters
- Ability to adapt to and support new and frequently changing energy efficiency programs
- Ability to read and analyze building plans
- Ability to comprehend complex program and technical specifications
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Capable of independent decision making
- HERS and/or BPI Certification
- Knowledge of RESNET and BPI standards and protocols
- Knowledge of national Home Performance with Energy Star program
- Knowledge of utility or state run energy conservation programs
- Knowledge of national green building standards
- Knowledge of REM/Rate
