Terrapin Bright Green, a green think tank and consulting firm, is seeking a Researcher with strong communication skills and an interest in environmental issues who will be able to take on a variety of web-based research projects. The conclusion of research reports will be the creation of presentation-quality case study slides and talking points documents that will support the work of the firm.

Qualifications:

* Excellent editing, verbal and written communications skills, as a good deal of the job of "Consultant" lies in appropriately messaging our work for clients.
* Ability to take initiative to work individually
* Ability to look beyond smaller details to find broader connections and opportunities for a project. Terrapin's work depends upon marrying the expertise of team members from a number of different disciplines and pulling out the essential, big-picture strategies.
* Applicant must be extremely comfortable with all Microsoft Office software. Working knowledge of the Adobe CS2-3 Suite is also necessary.
* This position requires the ability to multi-task, coordinate among a number of different parties, stay organized amidst distractions, communicate directly with clients, and produce high-quality written work. Over time, the applicant may progress to a project manager role.
* Previously demonstrated interest / involvement with the world of sustainable design, environmental conservation, municipal planning, or social justice organizations is highly encouraged.
* Must be comfortable with deadlines.
* A graduate degree, and ideally practical experience in the field of architecture, engineering, or urban planning.
* The applicant must live in the New York City area.
