Description
The national consumer advocacy organization Food & Water Watch challenges the economic and political forces promoting industrialized food production and the privatization of the oceans and fresh water resources on the local, national and international levels.
We are looking for a researcher, one with lots of experience investigating corporations, to develop educational materials that confront the corporate control and abuse of our water, fish and food resources.
Please note that we prefer someone with lots of experience writing about water issues, including and especially privatization. This person will research both corporations and government (federal, state and local) to build and then write reports, fact sheets, and articles for the general public, media, NGOs, elected officials, and government agencies.
This person must write clear, concise and interesting - no jargon, legalese or overly academic language -- publications that lay people want to read and can understand.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of corporate and government research and writing experience at public interest organization or publication. Familiarity with a range of consumer issues, and knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process. Extensive knowledge of online, media, library, corporate, economic, government, NGO, industry and academic research resources. Excellent written and oral communication and computer skills, including proficiency in Word and database programs. Excellent analytical skills.
