Description
Bridging Nations, a DC-based 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated primarily to promoting clean energy education, is seeking applicants for a full time position, starting in July 2010. Bridging Nations' primary focus is an upcoming education program in green energy.
Position Overview:
The Research and Project Assistant will be deeply enmeshed in the operations and affairs of this rapidly-growing and and fast-paced organization, and a strong work ethic and passion for the organization's work is required.
Responsibilities:
The Research / Project Assistant performs a wide array of functions:
Research and Development:
- Research relevant topics and stay on top of current issues
- Assist in planning the organization's growth and development
Office Management:
- Supervise other staff and interns
- Recruit, hire and train staff and interns
- Manage the office schedule
- Manage contact database
Web Content Management:
- Supervise all postings to the website
- Serve as tier-one technical support for interns and staff
- Make changes to the website as necessary
- Supervise the organization's social media accounts
Marketing:
- Plan and carry out events
- Lead the production of marketing materials
- Perform email marketing
- Maintain contacts with relevant people and organizations
- Represent Bridging Nations in various settings
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with GPA above 3.5
- Multi-tasking ability
- Experience in an office setting
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train others
- Strong technical proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and some HTML
- Management or leadership experience
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Academic or professional experience in the fields of International Relations, Political Science, Asia Studies, Energy Studies, Environmental Studies, or a related area
- Experience working or living in a diverse or international setting
- Experience in technical support, graphic design, or web development strongly preferred
