The Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute was created to develop citizen leaders for the global community committed to transform the energy future of San Antonio, Texas and the nation. The Institute draws on expertise and capabilities from across the entire university through each of its colleges and is actively partnered with CPS Energy, the largest wholly owned public municipality in the nation, to address key energy challenges for the coming decades.

Position Overview:
The Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute (TSERI) at the University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking applicants for 3 non-tenured track positions at the assistant and associate research professor levels. Applications are invited from individuals with an expertise in a variety of fields including energy systems (e.g., energy efficiency and conservation); large scale penetration of renewable energy technology and storage integration; advanced metering infrastructure, cyber security; electrification of the transportation sector and policy (environmental legislation, carbon credits regulations, renewable energy, clean energy, water, and transportation); and closely related areas.
Working with the TSERI institute will require identifying funding resources, writing proposals, leading on specific areas of expertise, and mentoring students at all levels. These positions will also have the opportunity to develop relationships with industry and break ground for San Antonio's economic future and sustainable energy impact. The institute is focused on cutting-edge research initiatives in order to provide tangible community impact.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 or more years of real world experience in engineering, science, policy, business, or architecture is required.
