Ecos Consulting is seeking a Research Intern for employment in Durango, CO. This position will be a limited duration position of 10 to 12 weeks. Job is expected to end in August 2005.
Ecos Consulting was founded in 1997 by four principals with experience in the utility industry, environmental community, government, and academia. The company's motto - "Making a World of Difference in the Market" aptly summarizes its mission. Ecos works to preserve and enhance global environmental quality through market-based methods, including financial incentives, marketing and education, retailer merchandising, infrastructure support, promotions, and partnerships with manufacturers. Ecos has an immediate need for a motivated, capable Research Intern interested in working with a multi-office team on a variety of cutting edge environmental topics.
Durango, Colorado is a great place to live. There are a number of trail systems that start in town for biking, hiking, and trail running. There is also good fishing and boating of the Animas River that flows through town. The state college attracts young people to the area, and the historic downtown features a number of good restaurants and an active nightlife. The Durango office employs three full-time researchers. The company as a whole employs approximately 50 people in Oregon, California, and Colorado.
Key accountabilities include:
Perform various administrative tasks: filing, organizing, materials purchasing, etc
Conduct Internet research
Build and use spreadsheets
Analyze power and usage pattern data from consumer electronics equipment home surveys
Measure electronics using lab equipment
Write drafts of various documents
Gather information via telephone
Work on team with other research and business development staff
Required skills and qualifications:
Undergraduate entering senior year in energy and environmental field of study. Preferred coursework and experience in: physics, chemistry, electronics or programming, and environmental policy. Additional skills include: Microsoft Office Suite, some statistical analysis, excellent writing skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Salary:
8 - 15 dollars per hour, depending on experience.
