KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. is the leading authority on social research and indexes for institutional investors.
Summary:
The Research Data Analyst maintains and improves the performance of various Access databases that house KLD's company research and other company-related data. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance for KLD's company-related data. Supports research product and research group with database needs. Facilitates research process improvements through creation and improvement of current systems used by research department. $30,000-$40,000 salary range, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities: Completes daily quality assurance on the composition of KLD's indexes and other indexes researched by KLD. Conducts a month-end quality assurance audit on databases. Supports the Research group by running database inquiries which provide updated data. This process may involve editing existing queries or writing new ones. Performs product maintenance tasks including:
* Creating monthly compliance product updates for clients. Compiling data by creating new and consolidating existing files.
* Packaging and distributing bi-weekly @KLD newsletter to KLD Socrates clients.
*Uploading KLD data onto partner sites.
*Managing relationship with Factiva,: keeping company lists and search strings updated with corporate action, index, and sector changes.
*Supporting Director of Research with scheduling update requests.
On-going database projects include improvements to the current Access database and new database development. Defines and develops quality assurance processes and helps to develop training documents for future use.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Concentration in Information Systems Management (MIS) or Computer Science preferred. Database management or programming experience, preferably more than one year, also required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access (including VBA programming), and SQL. Additionally, a knowledge of SRI research is a plus.
