Description

Co-op America is a national, non-profit membership organization that uses economic strategies for social and environmental change. Co-op America also manages key programs for the Social Investment Forum (SIF), a national, non-profit trade association for the socially responsible investing (SRI) industry. The Forum works to advance the concept, growth and practice of SRI through research, shareholder advocacy, community investing, membership outreach, media campaigns, and a variety of tools for investment professionals and their clients.

The Research Coordinator will work with the SRI Division Director, SIF Research Committee, SIF Community Investing Team, and other SIF Board Members and committees to promote socially responsible investing.

Responsibilities include:

* Research and/or coordination of research on SRI in the United States;

* Develop research plan, collect and verify data, with Board committees, for gauging the impact of SRI as it is implemented through portfolio screening, shareholder action and community investing;

* Develop a process for garnering Forum member input on research questions to guide development of our bi-annual Report on Socially Responsible Investing Trends in the United States, collect and synthesize results;

* Work with our Research Committee to write and edit the 2005 edition of our biennial Report on Socially Responsible Investing Trends in the United States;

* Other program responsibilities as needed.

Salary:$30,000 plus benefits as per personnel policy; 9-12 month position with the possibility of being renewed.

Qualifications:Experience in conducting and/or overseeing research projects of a quantitative nature. Strong analytic and project management skills. Ability to launch and develop new projects with key stakeholders. Ability to coordinate projects with national and international partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. B.A. or M.A. Familiarity with socially responsible investing a plus.
