Description

HARC, a private, not-for-profit applied scientific research facility dedicated to sustainable development, is located in The Woodlands, Texas, 30 miles north of Houston.  A description of HARC research programs is available here.  For more information about The Woodlands click here.

Responsibilities: 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

the position includes management of construction (renovation) projects and would involve preconstruction meetings, project claims reviews, project close-out documentation, schedule monitoring, progress meetings, project close out, drawing reviews, etc. This staff position will be directly involved in a range of projects that currently include solar energy, energy efficiency - including renovation of commercial buildings, hydrogen and fuel cells education/outreach, and transportation. 

The position is intended to rapidly develop project management skills and project support tasks as the staff member demonstrates capabilities for working across a broad spectrum of responsibilities. The individual will be involved with various teams on projects directed by senior staff.  

Qualifications: 

Education: Minimum of Masters Degree in technical, engineering, or environmental sciences.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience working in a related field and including variety of project types. Licensed professional engineer preferred.  Knowledge base should include scientific and technical orientation for environmental, energy and related projects.

Other Skills: Communication skills including assembling and summarizing technical and policy information for a non-technical audience; organizing and conducting committee meetings and processes; preparing and making presentations to non-technical and technical audiences.  Project management skills include organizing committees and meetings; conducting meetings; preparing and tracking project tasks and budgets; managing web-based information and providing project web content.
