OPPORTUNITY: SEA is seeking an experienced energy/renewable energy professional to fill the position described below:

Renewable Energy Market & Policy Analyst with Policy Focus.

  • Analyst to Senior Analyst: 1 year + with relevant undergraduate degree; Or master’s with relevant internship experience.
  • Skills & Experience: Electricity policy and markets, exposure to renewable energy and energy storage issues. At least 2 relevant internships, or 1 year industry or government experience.
  • Primary Roles & Responsibilities: Research, writing, and policy analysis contributing to SEA’s Eyes & Ears renewable energy regulatory, legislative and policy tracking and analysis service, through which several dozen private and public clients have outsourced much of the gathering, analyzing, and interpreting portions of their government affairs and market intel functions. Phenomenal cross-training opportunity and foundation for entering the clean energy industry, this role has launched numerous successful career trajectories. There also will be frequent opportunities to contribute to SEA’s varied consulting engagements, and while not essential to this role, people with a diverse skill base and strong quantitative tools (“Bonus Skills & Expertise”) can easily be plugged into our some of our most interesting and challenging project teams.

Bonus Skills & Expertise:

  • Skills & Experience: Quantitative analysis, plus good written and oral communication skills. Superior MS Excel skills, deep analytics proficiency, modeling experience.
  • Specific Subject Matter Expertise: Renewable energy markets and technologies; electricity market, financial and policy analysis. Engineering, economics, STEM or interdisciplinary with a quant bent. Programming and/or data science expertise a plus. Specific, Excel VBA, MATLAB, Python programming and/or database expertise a plus. Electric System Production Cost Modeling experience a plus.

LOCATION

Framingham, MA. As we navigate the post-pandemic landscape, most of our staff is working three days a week in the office (Tuesday-Thursday). Ideally the candidate is available to be based at and able to travel to our HQ, although in special circumstances (you best be a star) we will explore even more flexible work arrangements, as necessary. Lastly, we are considering establishing a presence elsewhere in the PJM footprint, and a working location elsewhere will be considered for the right person and role.

COMPENSATION 

Compensation (base salary, plus bonus target) will be commensurate with experience, and include ample opportunities for advancement based on performance – limited only by applicant’s capabilities and ambitions. Benefits package includes health insurance, unlimited paid time off, long-term disability coverage. 401K with guaranteed company contribution. An employee-paid dental program is also available.
