Position Overview

Renewable Energy Market Director:

Bluestem is looking for a motivated project developer passionate about renewable energy and ready to take things to the next level. Essential Job Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for taking renewable energy projects from early stage feasibility to start-of-construction.
  • Conducts load and generation modeling to appropriately size wind, solar, and battery storage projects.
  • Models economic impacts to customer based on in-depth understanding of rate tariffs, utility policy, and state law.  Communiate concepts effectively to customers.
  • Researches, understands and communicates local zoning requirements.
  • Proficient in technology-specific resource assessments.
  • Manages tasks according to budgets and schedules.
  • Identifies potential landowners, leads landowner communication and land lease negotiations.
  • Takes a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits.
  • Maintains and promotes relationships with stakeholders, utilities, regulators, etc. to support renewable energy project development.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
  • Proven success in writing effective, concise reports.
  • Driven to work at a faster than average pace in a changing environment, with the guidelines and support to be successful.
  • Ability to travel as needed to interact with customers, develop landowner relationships, visit local officials and attend zoning meetings.
Qualifications
 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Understanding of renewable energy technologies, the electric industry and basic project management skills.
  • Knowledge of and capability to use GIS tools.
  • Familiar with production modeling softwares such as PV Syst, NREL SAM, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point).
  • Strong organizational and time management.
