Position Overview:
This position is for an experienced renewable energy installer to work alongside an experienced foreman on solar electric and solar DHW systems for a brief period, and then very quickly become a foreperson for his/her own installation crew. Responsibilities include managing and carrying out foundation excavations and concrete pours, trenching excavations, making roof attachments, racking assembly, installing modules and collectors, completing wiring and plumbing, and monitoring work. Most project work will be residential and light-medium commercial.
Qualifications:
Expected: Mechanical, construction, and/or electrical experience is required. Aptitude for these skills is required. Should also be comfortable working outside in all seasons, working alongside heavy equipment (operation skill is a plus, but not required), and working on roofs, with ladders, and with hand and power tools. The ideal applicant should be interested in renewable energy systems and how they operate, and should have or be willing to learn good Customer interaction skills. A focus on high-quality and innovative work is a must.
Compensation: Compensation will be hourly, and fit the experience, skill set, education, and potential of the applicant. Benefits also available include healthcare, work mobile phone, and a company vehicle. Some tools are provided, but it is desirable for the installer to build and maintain their own tool resource over time. Training in the renewable energy field is also available at no cost and is highly encouraged.
