RESPONSIBILITIES 

Our sustainability business is expanding, and we are looking for a REC Business Developer to join our team. Main tasks will revolve around supporting with setup of our trading capabilities and managing customer requests for renewable energy certificates with supply from North America. The right candidate has a strong interest in sustainability issues and in environmental market mechanisms. The role is placed in the Global sustainability team for World Kinect.

The key duties and responsibilities include:

• Lead the initial set-up phase to establish trade execution capabilities
• Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions in collaboration with our sustainability and sales/account experts
• Sourcing to match demand for relevant certificates in the NA voluntary REC markets.
• Collaborate closely with our Trading and Middle Office teams to follow the entire trade cycle from drafting contracts to delivery
• Support the development of World Kinect’s REC offering, services, products and marketing materials
• Supporting our Sales and KAM teams in North America through training on REC markets and support with sales and customer cases
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for RECs when required in client meetings, conferences and other corporate events
• Ad hoc tasks related to the overall Sustainability service offering

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Minimum 5 years work experience within a similar role.
• Master’s degree within finance, economy and/or energy/environmental studies with economic profile.
• Knowledge of renewable energy certificate markets (RECs/I-RECs)
• Proven understanding of market functionality and price implications from supply/demand.
• Ability to quickly understand complex requests and transform them into trade opportunities.
• Strong interest in sustainability and environmental market mechanisms
• Commercial experience will be an advantage
