Background:
Regen SW - the Renewable Energy Agency for the South West is an exciting
new organisation dedicated to the promotion and facilitation of renewable
energy in the South West Region. Working with a wide range of partners from
the private and public sector we aim to get 11-15% of the regions energy from
renewable sources by 2010. The work of Regen SW is funded by the South
West of England Regional Development Agency, initially for three years.
Duties:
Regen SW now seeks two highly motivated individuals who can assist the
new Chief Executive in making the South West a leader in renewable energy.
Renewable Energy Adviser (Land Use Planning)
Your work will be critical to our aim of facilitating the building of hundreds of
renewable energy projects in the South West. You will work with local
authority officers and elected members at a strategic level to increase the
approval rates for planning applications, by encouraging the provision of
planning guidance to developers, improving the quality of planning applications
and improving understanding of renewable energy amongst decision makers.
You will also develop our work to make it easier for communities to set up
renewable energy projects. You will have a track record of successful policy
development, ideally in the land use planning system and have strong
communication and negotiation skills.
Compensation:
Regen sw South West Based in Exeter £25 - £33k plus benefits (depending on
experience).
Benefits include an essential users car allowance, relocation expenses where
relevant, and a generous employer contribution to a stakeholder pension. This
post will be on three-year fixed-term contracts.
