PanelClaw, Inc. develops and markets cost effective and environmentally friendly mounting solutions for photovoltaic modules. 

Position Overview:

The Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for executing PanelClaw's sales strategy for the California territory.  As a member of a growing and fast paced team, the RAM works with his/her peers in the sales and marketing departments to identify and develop sales opportunities across all PanelClaw market segments (e.g., residential ground mount, small commercial, large commercial, utility, distribution) in his/her territory. 

The RAM is responsible for selling solar PV mounting solutions to a variety of customer types, developing new relationships and partnerships with customers, hosting training for installers, participating in regional and national trade shows and industry related organizations, and ensuring sales goals are achieved in his/her region.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, develop and manage relationships with new solar integrators, EPC's, PPA providers, and utilities.
  • Improve positioning and strengthen overall relationships with existing customers and distributors.
  • Provide expert product information and application advice to customers, and recommend optimal PanelClaw product solutions.
  • Execute innovative sales strategies and processes that drive higher levels of growth.
  • Generate and develop leads and qualify prospects, through cold-calling and other lead generation activities.
  • Review, filter and track new commercial sales opportunities.
  • Record customer contact information, opportunity details, and other information as necessary. Track sales-related tasks, leads, and opportunities using Salesforce CRM software.
  • Generate cost estimates, sales orders, and communicate lead times.
  • Perform timely follow-up by email and/or phone.
  • Deliver technical documents, marketing material, and commercial data to customers as required.
  • Work with marketing as needed to help develop effective product collateral and marketing activities to support and expand sales and the PanelClaw brand.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of competitors' product lines.
  • Document customer and competitive feedback as acquired.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing, or related discipline; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the solar or building industries, with at least 3 of those years in an outside sales role.
  • Expertise developing new accounts, strategic alliances and sales channel partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with rigorous attention to detail and a process orientated approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Knowledge of solar photovoltaic mounting systems and/or work experience in the solar energy or other renewable energy industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced or expert level user of Microsoft' Office suite (e.g., Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook) for analysis, presentation and communication.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Experience successfully working in a decentralized, remote office environment.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license.
