The Loudoun County Government is seeking to fill a Recycling Specialist position with Solid Waste Management Department.
Position Overview:
Position administers collection programs for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), contracted collection of automotive batteries, oil, antifreeze, scrap metal, tires and yard waste.
Program duties include contract and events coordination and site management for special events collection and routine collections of materials, program and project planning.
Position responsible for developing and implementing public information and educational campaigns for waste reduction, reuse and recycling, consulting with County agencies and business to identify waste reduction, reuse, and recycling opportunities, developing seminars, media events and publications.
Requirements:
Requirements include experience in municipal recycling issues, regional and national recyclable materials market trends.
Position requires excellent planning, organizational and communication skills for demonstrated program results.
Minimum of BA/BS in environmental, physical or life sciences, public / business administration or marketing and 3 years of related experience. Proficient in Windows Office applications including word processing, spreadsheet, relational databases, graphics and / or desktop publishing.
Compensation: Salary range is: $43,194 - $58,312
