Description
The Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management, through responsible management of the County's water, wastewater and solid waste infrastructure, strives to provide the community with a safe and dependable water supply and reliable waste disposal services that do not reduce or inhibit the use of the County's natural resources.
Position Overview:
This professional position is responsible for the implementation and management of County-wide recycling programs. Supervision is given to Recycling Administrative and Operations staff. Supervision is received from the Superintendent of the Department of Solid Waste Management, and/or the Director and Deputy Director of the Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Some experience administering recycling programs - an additional 2 years of related work experience may reduce the education requirement to a related Associate's degree
- Some experience providing supervision or direction to others
- Word processing and spreadsheet experience or training
- Possession of a valid automobile operator's license with the ability to obtain and maintain a Frederick County Employee Driving Permit
Preference may be given for: Possession of any of the following SWANA certifications; Managing Municipal Solid Waste Recycling Systems, Collection and Transfer Systems, and Managing Compost Programs
Compensation: $48,112 per year / full-time / full-benefits
