Providing evaluation services for administrators; we help our clients not only evaluate these programs but also assess the complex markets in which the programs operate.

We provide clients with the research-based information and insights needed to help them focus program efforts based on the realities of the market, to measure the impacts of energy-efficiency and renewable energy programs, and to provide strategic guidance for improving program design and delivery.

Position Overview 

NMR, a small and expanding consulting company, is seeking candidates for a Quantitative Analyst position.

NMR is based in Somerville, Massachusetts. The candidate may be located anywhere in the US, with a preference for New England or New York. 

NMR is seeking to hire an individual possessing the knowledge, skills, and abilities typically gained through a master’s degree in statistics, economics, or other mathematical fields plus three to five years of relevant work experience, or possibly doctoral-level graduate education in the same fields. 

Qualifications  

Qualifications include the following: 

  • Proficiency with very large datasets
  • Considerable experience developing quantitative models
  • Ability to perform descriptive quantitative analyses using Stata, SPSS, R or similar data analysis packages
  • Facility in writing clear and concise descriptions of research results 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • We prefer candidates with experience addressing energy-related subjects, and also candidates who understand the principles and practices of program impact evaluation, but will consider candidates with relevant skills and expertise gained in other fields.
  • Experience with complex sample designs and weighting, along with survey design, implementation, and analysis are also valuable but not essential.
  • While most work will be quantitative, we are seeking candidates with the willingness and ability to conduct broad, mixed-methods research, including straightforward survey analysis and qualitative research such as in-depth interviewing.
