Organic Valley / CROPP Cooperative, the largest farmer-owned, organic cooperative in America, located in beautiful, rural southwestern Wisconsin is looking for a creative, driven and entrepreneurial individual to oversee and direct our Quality Assurance, Certification Management and Product Development departmemts with key integration with Marketing. This position will serve as a technical resource, a seasoned professional guide with the map for success and a key collaborator and conduit to the Marketing department.
Description:
Oversight of the following existing sub-departments Quality Assurance; Certification Management; Product Development, with key integration with marketing functions.
This position will take a creative, driven person, who is accurate and pays attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities:
*
Responsible for the integration and supervision of the 3 sub-departments, including annual reviews as well as the establishment of performance measures.
*Establish the foundation of food science/product development and regulatory knowledge.
*Chair the New Product Team, being an active participant in this process.
*Assist the Director of Manufacturing & Quality assurance in the development of contract processors.
*Draft and execute plant or product related feasibility studies.
*Augment and Develop systems for evaluation/benchmarking of existing products.
*Develop system for evaluation of package durability at retail level.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific and regulatory aspects of food sciences and nutrition that impacts the dairy and related industries.
Qualifications and Skills:
*
BS or MS in Food Science or related studies
*5+ years experience in dairy or meat processing and/or Quality Assurance
*Experience in product formulation
*Experience in managing Quality Assurance programs
*Ability to effectively develop internal and external relationships.
*Proven effective, genuine communication with internal and external customers.
*Ability to solve problems quickly.
*Must be able to manage people and work in a team environment.
*Identification with Organic Valley's mission or identification with an entrepreneurial organization an added plus.
*Must possess polished computer skills. . . Access, Word, Excel and Outlook all essential.
