Position Overview:
Locus Energy is looking for a talented QA Engineer to join our team and help us meet our aggressive development plans. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, and have a passion for renewable energy.
As a member of our QA Team, the QA Engineer will play a key role in the software development process, working closely with our development team to identify, analyze, and document problems. This includes continually identifying infrastructure bottlenecks and ways to improve system performance and scalability.
The successful candidatewill have experience with automating testing in several capacities, prior experience with startup companies, and a genuine interest in solar power.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional testing, white box testing, system testing, regression testing, and load testing
- Build and maintain automated regression testing framework
- Manage API level testing
- Create performance tests to identify system bottlenecks and find ways to improve overall performance and scalability
- Work collaboratively with development during all stages of projects toprovide in process testing results
- Communicate test progress and results
- Track and report defects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies
- Experience as a lead QA tester for a major software product release
- Experience using GUI test automation tools
- Experience with Soap UI or other XML testing technologies
- Experience with Java, C#, or any high level language
- Experience testing database applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven troubleshooting aptitudes
- Experience in an Agile development and test environment
- Working knowledge of the software development life cycle
- Genuine interest in solar power and the technologies that can accelerateits widespread adoption
