Description

Konarka Technologies is a renewable energy spin off from University Massachusetts, Lowell that is working towards commercializing a flexible, lightweight, printable, inexpensive solar technology that is much more versatile in application than traditional silicon-based solar cells.

Anywhere there is light, power plastic makes it possible for devices, systems and structures to have their own low-cost embedded sources of renewable power. By combining energy generation and power consumption within the same device, Konarka enables manufacturers to create a World Without Wires" with truly wireless applications.

* The candidate should possess sufficient technical expertise to solve complex problems independently with minimal supervision.
* Present progress at project team meetings.
* Document progress in laboratory notebooks and reports.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Carry out all work in safe and environmentally conscious manner.

The nature of the work would include evaluating and optimizing novel materials, device processing, and device evaluation. Our activities lead to the development of new technology and IP. This position will report to the Director of Materials and Chemistry.
