Position Overview: 

The Project Program Coordinator participates in business retention and expansion, recruitment, research, marketing, industry support and development, urban renewal budget and project coordination, infrastructure improvements, workforce development, and marketing of PDC financial tools with an emphasis on Clean Tech cluster grouping, and specifically the green building and development industries.

Responsibilities: 

Coordinates planning, feasibility analysis, and preparation of work plans, schedules and budgets for a broad range of projects. Represents PDC on initiatives related to the Clean Tech/green building and development cluster grouping including, but not limited to projects such as the Oregon Sustainability Center; energy efficiency retrofits; integrated district solutions (including EcoDistricts); and energy storage. Serves as liaison between PDC and industry associations, private developers and government agencies. Serves on special committees as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of land use planning, financial (pro forma) analysis, real estate negotiations, economic development related data analysis, consultant hiring and management, and team coordination skills required. Strong project management skills.

This position also requires skills in using computer spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software. Capability to interact effectively with other staff, the target industry and development community, business representatives, state and local politicians, outside agency representatives and members of the public, and to build consensus among all of the stakeholders. Effective public speaking skills are required.

Minimum Education & Experience:

Bachelor's in planning, design, economics, business, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 6 or more years of experience in business retention, economic development or other related experience required.
