Over the past 10 years alone, we have designed 10 new dams and worked on dam rehabilitation projects involving 50 existing dams. Our services include innovative stormwater management, integrated water resource modeling and flood control studies and designs. Our design of fish passage facilities won the 2010 ACEC/PA Diamond Award for Engineering Excellence. Our clients include American Water, the Corps of Engineers, FEMA, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the US Fish and Wildlife Service and numerous state and local governments.

Position Overview:

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly motivated individual to develop and lead Gannett Fleming's Midwest Water Resources Practice. The position will serve as an Engineer/Project Manager with 10-15 years progressive experience in the planning and design of engineering services related to water resources in one or more areas including surface water modeling, stormwater management including sustainable site design, shoreland protection, and dam projects. Successful candidates will have competencies to lead project development efforts, including water resources infrastructure projects such as dams, flood control projects, stream restoration and innovative stormwater management.

Strong candidates will have demonstrated leadership with client development and practice leadership. This role is pivotal to the growth of a comprehensive engineering and analysis consulting solutions practice for the Midwest and support of Gannett Fleming's National Water Resources Practice. Additional desirable services include dam safety and evaluation services, hydrology and hydraulics, hydropower development, and site and roadway drainage sensitive to pollution control and prevention planning and design.

This individual will also serve as technical specialist in the application of advanced theories, concepts, and principles related to water resource projects. Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating design engineering assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect major projects. Will also plan, organize, and supervise design engineering activities for major projects, of varying size and complexity and provide leadership in growing the practice through account development.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have a B.S in Civil, Hydrologic, and/or Hydraulic engineering, M.S. strongly preferred
  • 10-15 years Water Resources engineering experience
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license
  • Strong hydrology and hydraulics experience
  • Hands on experience with water resources software and modeling programs to include HEC-RAS, HEC-HHS and DAM BREAK
  • Design and study engineering services for water resource/dam projects
  • Experience and use of GIS software for surface water modeling
  • Knowledge of Dam Safety Regulations
  • Experience managing green stormwater projects preferred
  • Strong client and project management experience
