Position Overview: 

Due to tremendous growth, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our Transportation Initiatives team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Project Manager will support initiatives and projects that focus on helping local and regional communities understand, plan for and implement electric transportation. Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager, you will manage and support a variety of projects related to the planning and implementation of electric transportation. This includes the following job responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, assemble project teams that include both internal and external members, provide reporting and communication on project milestones, coordinate project logistics, develop budgets for projects and monitor expenses
  • Provide consultation on electric transportation issues to community representatives and stakeholders (local, state, national and corporate)
  • Work with stakeholders to develop plug-in electric vehicle readiness plans (corporate, local, state, regional, national)
  • Maintain the PEV Community Planning Guide and related resources, and create new resources to assist communities in planning for and implementing electric transportation initiatives
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workgroups and forums involving local and regional government officials, industry representatives, non-profits, environmental groups, educational institutions, other applicable stakeholders, and members of the general public
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships; represent company at local and national conferences and workshops.
  • Conduct education and outreach tasks including creating and giving presentations
  • Write technical and non-technical content for reports, proposals and other documents 

Qualifications:

BS degree in Regional Planning, Environmental Studies or relevant degree required; MBA or Masters in Planning, Public Administration or Environmental Management preferred. Direct, relevant transportation planning experience may be considered in lieu of the specific majors stated.

A minimum of 5 years experience required, including demonstrated skills in project management, community/regional planning, public speaking, group facilitation, technical writing, market research, and community involvement/outreach. 10 or more years of relevant experience preferred. Preference will be given to individuals who have relevant experience in transportation planning and experience working with government agencies (DOE, DOD, Clean Cites, Local and Regional Governments etc), electric utilities or their suppliers.

Position may require up to 25% travel.
