Description
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks a creative and self-motivated individual for the position of Project Manager in the New York State Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) program area.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing program related projects and associated contractors to on time completion and within budget;
- Reviewing, managing, and tracking program invoices;
- Tracking progress towards program goals, coordinating activities across program areas, coordinating program implementation with external stakeholders including the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) and the NYS Department of Public Service staff;
- Conducting accounting and economic analyses on program achievement and supporting activities; and
- Overall program accounting, budgeting, evaluation and reporting.
Additional responsibilities may include managing competitive procurements and/or auctions for energy-related products; participating in bid review and selection processes; conducting economic analyses of bids and program achievement; and overall program accounting and budgeting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business administration or a closely related degree program. Experience working in the energy industry and demonstrated experience in project management, contract management, budgeting, invoicing, accounting, and economic analysis is required. Intermediate skills working with Microsoft Excel's analysis and reporting functions are preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Knowledge in the areas of energy pricing, marketing (purchases and sales), energy contracting and accounting, and energy delivery preferred. Also, knowledge in the areas of renewable generation, renewable energy markets, and emissions trading is a plus.
Candidates will be considered from Assistant Project Manager through Project Manager. If the successful candidate currently holds a project manager title, he/she will transfer into R&D at her/his current grade and salary.
