In 1946, the Province of Ontario enacted the Conservation Authorities Act, permitting municipalities in a watershed (or watersheds) to form a Conservation Authority to conserve and manage natural resources. In 1957, the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority was formed, replacing 4 smaller authorities. In December of 1997, Bill 148 amended the Conservation Authorities Act changing the name of the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, reflecting the amalgamation of the former cities and borough within Metropolitan Toronto.
Position Overview:
Partners in Project Green is an initiative to transform the industrial area surrounding Canada's largest airport into an internationally recognized eco-business zone. Through new forms of business-to-business collaboration, Partners in Project Green delivers programming that helps businesses reduce energy and resource costs, uncover new business opportunities, and address everyday operational challenges in a green and cost effective manner.
Your role on the team will be to provide leadership in the delivery of Partners in Project Green programming, working with businesses to utilize and implement initiatives from the Partners in Project Green program catalogue. Lead the development of Partners in Project Green initiatives, including project development, planning and implementation, including overseeing consultants, developing proposals and RFPs, fundraising, leading internal and external stakeholder meetings and managing project budgets.
Responsibilities:
Perform the following tasks under general supervision.
- Managing the delivery of Partners in Project Green programming, working with businesses to utilize and implement initiatives from the Partners in Project Green program catalogue.
- Create projects plans with scope, timing and resource requirements.
- Establish and manage project teams, budget levels, milestone reporting and conduct stakeholder needs analysis.
- Lead project teams, identify issues, resolve problems and implement projects successfully.
- Conduct post-mortems, staff evaluations and project deliverable tracking and report back to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 4 Year University Degree or equivalent in related fields including business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline;
- 5 years experience in managing projects;
- Leadership in multidisciplinary teams;
- Influence and pursuit skills to keep on budget, communicate effectively and maintain commitments to outcomes;
- Track record of successful implementation of projects and events;
- Excellent communication skills in all modes;
- Excellent customer service skills and stakeholder/client relationship management;
- Budgetary and financial stewardship skills;
- Strong problem solving skills, collaborative and facilitation skills; and,
- Computer literate and familiar with project management reporting or software programs.
Compensation: $64,121 to $67,750 per annum
