LORD Green Real Estate Strategies is a consulting firm near downtown Dallas working with high-profile property owners to "green" their existing buildings.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager--Green Buildings shall be responsible for taking multiple projects through the LEED® certification process. The position shall assess buildings against the LEED Rating System, identify and evaluate the feasibility and cost/benefit of implementing sustainable strategies to meet LEED credits, perform LEED calculations and manage the LEED process including LEED-Online.
Research and identification of new sustainable strategies and protocols will be ongoing. The ideal candidate will be a quick study, an Excel guru, passionate about the environment, a logical thinker and able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Develop absolute command of ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®, LEED Online, and the LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System.
- Obtain LEED Accredited Professional designation (for Existing Buildings) within 3 months of position start date.
- Develop strong working knowledge of ASHRAE 90, 62, 15 and 55, Energy Policy Act 1992, Uniform Plumbing Code and ENERGY STAR Target Finder for LEED project certifications.
- Develop working knowledge of all LEED Rating Systems.
- Become knowledgeable of emissions reduction reporting including Global Reporting Initiative's "G3 Sustainability Reporting Framework," EPA Climate Leaders, ISO 14001 and other GHG programs.
- Write white papers and articles as requested.
- Research, price and catalog sustainable products, services and incentives for in-house resource library.
- Develop supporting templates (in Microsoft Word and Excel) for LEED credits.
- Travel as directed for property inspections, client meetings, charettes, trainings and conferences.
- Provide in-house, industry and client trainings/presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
- College degree in engineering with a focus in mechanical systems, buildings, construction, energy or the environment.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years' professional experience.
- Working knowledge of building systems is highly preferred.
- Understanding of ASHRAE 90, 62, 15, 55, EPACT 1992 and UPC is preferred.
- Experience with energy modeling using EPA Energy Star is a plus.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat are a must.
