In 2002, our founders hatched an idea to create a vehicle for clean renewable energy in the Midwest, with the purpose to encourage decisions that create a sustainable world for the next seven generations. Seventh Generation Systems Integration (SGES) came from that vision and began the trek to educate citizens through the implementation of renewable energy systems.

As we grew in numbers and experience, we worked diligently to build the networks to support our mission. The Midwest Renewable Energy Association and Focus on Energy played a significant role in supporting our efforts. We are recognized as a trailblazer in the growth of renewable energy in the Midwest. To date, we have developed a strong client base and organizational presence.

Position Overview:

This position oversees, coordinates, and implements all phases of wind and solar projects to ensure they are completed in a timely, efficient, successful and professional manner. In addition, the position seeks and develops leads, writes proposals and responds to formal RFPs for renewable energy projects throughout the Upper Midwest.

Working closely with the Systems Division Manager and ED, the Business Developer will be critical in helping to implement the vision and strategic direction of the organization.

Training will be provided to assist in familiarizing with the specific aspects of the wind and solar PV industry. Because of the nature of the small Wind industry, the ideal candidate is comfortable with dynamic processes and motivated to empower clients to bring renewable energy to the forefront.

Responsibilities:

Project Management (~50% of time):

  • Finalize equipment vendors and site location
  • Support clients in funding and grant processes and directed research
  • Finalize Purchase Agreement with clients
  • Provide support for system permitting
  • Assist Technology Manager with interconnection
  • Direct sub?contractors, as needed
  • Work with Technology Manager to coordinate install

Business Development (~50% of time):

  • Interface with potential clients through development stage
  • Identify prospects through meetings and individual
  • Document prospects in CRM database.
  • Develop proposals and sales process until handoff to manager
  • Provide sales and marketing support at RE events
  • Provide other sales support as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Understanding of and passion for renewable energy
  • Project Management and Budget Management experience
  • Successful networking, lead generation and sales experience
  • Demonstrated organizational aptitude
  • Solving problems with multiple facets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self?motivated to follow through on responsibilities

Desired:

  • Construction management knowledge or direct experience
  • Grant and permit writing experience
  • Project Management and CRM software experience

Compensation: Compensation for this position is $36?40k on a salaried basis and depends on experience (plus incentives). This is a full time position with health care benefits and paid vacation. Location will be based in our Madison, WI office.

Travel is required for site visits, coordination with sub?contractors, interconnection logistics, and client relations.

Reporting Relationship: The position will be under the direction of the Systems Division Manager, in coordination with the Executive Director.
