Position Overview 

Incumbent reports directly to the Managing Director of the Presidio Institute and oversees a team of technology vendors and curriculum developers to create an online learning platform for social impact leaders with the goal of publicly launching the portal in late 2015/early 2016; leads development of online learning platform.

The portal is envisioned as an affordable and approachable environment for professionals working to create positive social impact to develop their skillsets, build their networks, and challenge their mindsets to become more adaptable and collaborative leaders.

Following the creation of a business plan for the portal in early 2014, the Presidio Institute has partnered with American Express to develop and test a ‘prototype' of the portal over the course of twelve months.

Note: This is a full-time term position with benefits, not to exceed 12 months. 

Responsibilities 

  • This position is responsible for defining the product strategy and roadmap, including management of the business plan and budget, day to day product development, and measures of success;
  • Effectively manages curriculum development vendors/partners to translate existing curriculum into 9-12 online modules;
  • Oversees technology vendors to develop the online learning platform and optimize its functionality;
  • Cultivates new and existing partnerships and contractual relationships as necessary to enhance the portal's offerings and support long-term development goals;
  • Potential partners/vendors include eLearning content specialists, curriculum providers, software providers, and organizations that may serve as pipelines of potential users;
  • Follows industry trends to explore cutting-edge products, content delivery methods, and techniques to engage users including gamification and credentialing;
  • Manages cross functional teams of Presidio Trust employees as necessary to set up the internal systems needed for the portal's development and launch; and
  • Creates and implements feedback and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the portal provides a high quality, effective, and appealing learning experience for users.  

Qualifications 

  • Requires bachelor's degree in computer science, education, business, or other relevant field; advanced degree desirable. 
  • Minimum three years' experience in technical project management or project management, preferably in online learning.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g. NetDimensions, SumTotal) and eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Adobe Captivate).
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams with diverse groups.
  • Exceptional intrapersonal skills and ‘can-do' attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience or familiarity with leadership development, especially for a social sector audience desirable.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State driver's license.
