to the environment. ~
By carefully
understanding the needs of project hosts, local communities, and financial
partners, Kearsarge creates long term value by acquiring, financing,
developing, operating, and managing renewable energy assets including solar,
wind, biomass, hydroelectric, and biogas, across the US with a focus on
Massachusetts.
Kearsarge
is currently focused on meeting the growing demand for reliable, unobtrusive
and cost-effective commercial-scale renewable energy in select markets by
developing and operating a portfolio of more than 80 MW of distributed
generation solar PV projects.
We
are looking for a new team member to support our project development efforts,
including site review and acquisition, operating project asset management,
project finance and public relations.
Position
Overview:
This
is a dynamic opportunity for a self-starter who wants to work in the renewable
energy industry (current focus Solar) for a small and rapidly growing firm. The successful candidate will have experience
in project management, have proficient spreadsheet and power point skills, and have
familiarity with financial modeling, with strong customer/vendor skills and
interaction. Candidate must demonstrate
high integrity, good sense of humor and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
within a small team. Prior experience
with energy and/or renewable energy project management and development is
beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities:
-
Assists
managing projects from inception to operation by carefully building systems and
processes to monitor, measure and track all facets of project development. -
Establishes financial status by developing and
implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting
financial information for Kearsarge Energy's Solar Projects including, A/R and
A/P, and protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. -
Tracks
all revenues and expenses for each Solar Project on a monthly basis. -
Tracks
regulatory and contractual reporting requirements for each Solar Project on a
monthly and quarterly basis. -
Reviews
all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. -
Prepares
and manages detailed project management schedules and databases, interacting
with a variety of stakeholders on a daily basis. Runs weekly meetings, anticipates and
troubleshoots scheduling conflicts. -
Supports
development team in management of active projects and relationships with
various partners including project hosts, engineers, consultants, lawyers,
surveyors, and financial partners. -
Supports
development team in management of new leads. -
Manages
matrix to allow for opportunity evaluation including site evaluation and
payback through building financial models for return analysis. -
Builds
and runs cash flow projections, savings analyses, cost sensitivities for
various projects and scenarios. Develops
and models financing solutions that require debt, equity, monetization of tax
equity and other capital financing options in order to meet financial
benchmarks. - Track
and monitor new policy developments in relevant state markets. -
Monitors
key industry news including M&A, project finance transactions, capital
raises and overall developments in renewable energy that impact Kearsarge
business. -
Tracks
SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Certificate) market data including current pricing
across markets and contract terms. -
Manages
internal administrative database of project legal documents, partnerships,
funding sources, engineering partnerships. -
Develops
new content for company website. - Performs
filing and copying.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's
Degree required with excellent grades and results. - Strong
ethics and personal integrity working with confidential data. - Minimum
of 0-2 years work experience in a related field (finance, energy, project
management, project development, real estate). - The
ideal candidate will be research-oriented, creative and resourceful,
goal-oriented and organized. Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task. - Outstanding
interpersonal skills and phone skills. - Demonstrated
problem solving skills-the individual identifies and resolves problems in a
timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and uses time
efficiently. - Excellent
spreadsheets skills and understanding of numbers. - Must
have excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated
ability to work in a team atmosphere but also independently. - Quality
control-the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own
work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
