Description
KDC Solar's goal is to be a significant owner and operator of distributed generation solar facilities in New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic States by providing long term discounted solar electricity businesses and institutions. KDC Solar is focused on building and operating "behind the meter" solar facilities of at least 2 megawatts which will reduce our customers ongoing energy costs, preserve and create long term jobs for our customers and, at the same time, benefit the environment through the reduction of the use of fossil fuels.
Position Overview:
With a strong background in the power industry, KDC Solar is now embarking on a very aggressive program of commercial solar power installations in the New Jersey area. To provide support during installation, startup and into Operations we are looking to enhance our staff with talented project management/engineering personnel. Since our project pipeline is continuing to grow we are currently seeking 2 candidates.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have 15 years of experience in the power or related industries and have functioned in project engineer/project manager or lead engineer roles. Our primary focus for this solicitation is degreed engineers, with strong electrical and I&C backgrounds, and understanding of the financial impact of project management. The candidate will play a significant role in technical review and analysis of contractor proposals, serve to oversee and manage the work of solar contractors on commercial installations, and ensure installation is proceeding in accordance with specifications, good engineering practice, and conformance with contract documents.
Experience in the Solar Industry on the design, including PV modeling, and installation of roof mounted and ground mounted systems is certainly a positive. Because one of these roles will ultimately evolve into a role in Operations and Maintenance Management, experience in that area would also be viewed as a positive.
