Project Engineer

Signal Energy is a full service design/build contractor providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for renewable energy projects across North America. As a subsidiary of EMJ Construction, we are the renewable energy arm of one of the nation's largest general contractors.

Our Corporate office is searching for a Project Engineer. The position is located in Chattanooga, TN and will be in our Pre-Construction Department.

Responsibilities:

• Significant involvement in the preliminary design phase for wind and solar projects.
• Reviews all engineering aspects of the construction project and is held accountable for review and inspection of specifications, drawings, installation, and communication of any issues or discrepancies.
• Participate in the conceptual development/estimating of the project and assist with its design and implementation.
• Support project administration to ensure project is constructed in accordance with the contract technical requirements, design, budget, and schedule.
• Review all submittals and oversee submittal process.
• Organizes, reviews, comments on, and manages all engineering/design changes to drawings or specifications.
• Investigate non-conformance issues and implementation of corrective measures, risk management, safety, and quality control.
• Additional duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring contract & subcontract compliance, assist with project scheduling, track & update project drawings and specifications, and financial analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related area.
• Minimum 3 years construction engineering experience, preferably on large commercial/multi-disciplined/industrial, high voltage utility, highway/road, or energy projects preferred.
• Knowledge of design of roads, foundations, high voltage underground and overhead electrical systems, substations, and ISO design requirements are a plus.
• Knowledge of public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.
• Must be able to read, understand, and apply civil and electrical drawings and job specifications.
• Must possess strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency using Viewpoint, Primavera, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Relocation to Chattanooga, TN.
