We provide full-services solar power systems to homeowners, businesses and institutions. At Boston Solar, we design and install solar panel systems that fit the architectural profiles and energy needs of local homes in Massachusetts. We also provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance services. Our installation teams are licensed and trained to the highest NABCEP standards.

Boston Solar was founded in 2010 by a young team of entrepreneurs whose collective experience and skills meshed together formed the company's thorough competence as a solar integrator/installer. Each of the founding principals brought individual skills to the table ranging from a general contractor experience, electrical expertise, energy conservation analysis and finance knowhow. 

Position Oevrview

Boston Solar is looking for an experienced Project Developer to generate light commercial PV system projects. Responsibilities will include developing projects from prospecting through to contract execution. This is a full time position with a base salary, uncapped commissions and health care benefits.

The Project Developer must be a self-starter, strong communicator, disciplined and detail oriented. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision and to generate projects primarily through their own activities including cold calls, existing business networks and other marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

Key Duties: 

  • Actively generate, manage and qualify new prospects, with a focus on commercial and non profit projects up to 250kW
  • Analyze client electricity and financial requirements and design custom PV systems 
  • Understand financial incentives and financing options available, interconnection and permitting requirements, and stay on top of PV market developments
  • Work closely with senior management to develop the sales strategy and relevant tools to achieve sales targets
  • Work closely with Boston Solar financial partners to secure project financing
  • Consistently utilize Salesforce and log all activities throughout the sales process 

Essential Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years commercial sales experience required. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets, selling complex products/services, developing new markets, etc
  • Solar sales experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to build trust and rapport with prospective customers
  • Strong computer skills
  • Reliable vehicle and insurance 

Compensation: Base salary, attractive uncapped commissions, health benefits.
