Position Overview

New Jersey Conservation Foundation is seeking a full-time staff member to join our team to coordinate projects in the Black River Greenway Project Area of Bedminster Township, Peapack Gladstone Township and surrounding areas.   

The successful candidate for the Project Coordinator Black River Greenway position will work with land owners in Bedminster Township, Peapack Gladstone Township and within the neighboring project areas of two local land trusts for the acquisition and preservation of open space, farmlands and greenways. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Identifying potential funding sources for acquisition and preservation, real estate contract negotiations, and handling all documentation, due diligence and funding for closing the transaction. 
  • Additional responsibilities include attending Open-Space and Farmland Preservation Advisory meetings, attending Non-profit board and committee meetings, interfacing with various municipal, county and state planners and providing educational outreach presentations to the community and interested landowners.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience with land conservation, land acquisition, real estate transactions, GIS, and interfacing with municipal government and preservation agencies is preferred. 
  • Other qualifications include strong computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly and thrive under pressure.    
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy or a related field is also a plus.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. We offer a competitive benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and personal time, health insurance, life insurance and a 401k plan.
