Kearns & West Project Coordinator and Associate Positions Available
Well-respected environmental collaboration and strategic communications consulting firm with a national presence seeks 2 team members to assist with public outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts on energy, environmental, and natural resources projects. The positions are based in San Francisco, but involve frequent travel within Northern and Central California and the Central Valley.
Position Overview:
We're looking for energetic, self-motivated professionals who are organized and have great initiative, can accomplish tasks quickly as well as multitask, and can successfully balance working as part of a team with working well independently. Candidates should have strong interest in developing and enhancing skills in neutral facilitation, collaborative process management, and public involvement. Note: this is a neutral position, not an advocacy position.
Responsibilities:
Issues research and writing, interacting with diverse stakeholders, meeting planning, note taking, assisting with meeting facilitation, writing and designing outreach materials, working with clients and stakeholders to understand interests and needs, and providing additional communications and outreach support.
Qualifications:
Required:
Stellar communications skills, both written and oral. Ability to understand and synthesize complex issues. Adept at working on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated interest and professional experience working with environmental, natural resource, energy, or planning issues. Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and Outlook. Excellent references.
For project coordinator (entry-level) position: Bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years work and/or internship experience.
For associate position: Bachelor's degree and 3 to 7 years work experience.
Preferred:
Experience communicating energy and/or environmental issues to various publics, meeting facilitation and consensus-building strategies, social media experience. Consulting experience. Knowledge of environmental review process. Master's degree or equivalent experience in public policy, communications, natural resources, or planning.
