Position Overview:
The Architect II - Project Architect/Coordinator (PA/PC) is involved in the project from the Pre-Design phase through the Commissioning Process. The distinction between the Project Architect and the Project Coordinator is the existence of Professional Registration. The responsibilities are the same.
An Architect II should be able to support a Senior Architect on a large project or act as the lead architect on a less complicated project. As such, an Architect II should have been exposed to all phases of work for a project and be able to work independently with minimal direction during some phases of the project.
Responsibilities:
Design, Production, and Construction:
Based on project's complexity the PA/PC will be responsible to:
- Produce Contract Drawings
- Write Code Reviews
- Enforce the Stantec Quality Assurance Policy
- Assist in the Quality Assurance Review Process.
- Develop Details
- Develop Project Manuals Including Technical Specifications
- Understand Design Intent of Project
- Lead the Documentation Effort
- Mentor Project Staff
- Plan Contract Documents Sets (and Lists)
- Set-up Revit model file(s)
- Review Submittals
- Attend Construction Meetings
- Change-order Administration
- Project Closeout and Commissioning
- Maintain CA logs
- Ensure all communications are professional, accurate and adhere to Stantec standards.
Marketing and Sales:
- Assist in the Preparation of Fee Proposals.
- Assist in the Preparation of Additional Service Requests.
Project Schedule and Approach:
- Assist in the maintenance of schedules that meet the client's goals and objectives.
- Support and communicate the vision and scope of the project.
Qualifications:
- Professional 4 or 5 year Degree in Architecture
- 5 Years experience in similar project types.
- Professional Registration preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in scheduling, word processing, spreadsheet software and Revit (test administered.)
