Position: Project Coordinator for Training and Field Services
Type: Half Time/20 hours/week; Exempt
Location: Based in Takoma Park MD office
Reports to: Senior Director,Training and Field Services
Salary Range: $18,000 - $20,000 plus benefits, depending on experience (based on 20 hour work week)
Job Summary:
This position provides coordination and support for the Innovation Center's Senior Director of Training and Field Services
Responsibilities:
* Work in partnership with the Sr. Director of Training & Field Services and other staff across the Innovation Center, with emphasis on external communication, training coordination and delivery, meeting planning, and partnership development.
* Coordinate projects, meetings, travel, events, and processes with the Sr. Director to external customers in a manner ensuring clear communication and follow-up actions that result in quality customer service and seamless management.
* Maintain efficient, timely, and high quality written and oral communication with internal and external partners.
* Serve as a liaison to internal and external groups.
* Create, proof and edit correspondence, training materials and reports; other duties as assigned.
* Provide back up to other project coordinators and product sales.
* Work with high school and youth staff that assist with project management and training.
Qualifications:
* College degree with 4-5 years of community leadership, training, or nonprofit management experience.
* Knowledge of youth development and/or social justice fields.
* Detail-oriented with project coordination and administrative skills.
* Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
* Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
* Able to: work and problem solve independently, perform multiple tasks, function under pressure, work effectively with youth and adult partners, handle sensitive issues appropriately, and work with a team in a planned and coordinated effort.
* Strong research, writing and editing ability, excellent time management and organizational skills, and proven success in taking initiative and leadership on projects.
* Experience conducting workshops and trainings.
* Experience with Microsoft Suite; database management, fund development and project management software.
* Sense of humor, strong feedback and communication skills, and results orientation a must!
* Bilingual a plus.
Minimum Experience:
BA/BS & 4-5 years multi-task work experience related to project planning and coordination.
Physical Requirements:
Long periods of sitting at computer Lifting up to 10 lbs Some travel required
