The unbiased scientific information produced by our scientists is essential to sound environmental policy, management decisions, and education curricula.

Position Overview

  • Assist in studies of the ecology of the Hudson River.
  • Duties include considerable fieldwork on boats and along shores or wetlands of the Hudson River, as well as data entry and collection and processing of zebra mussels, other invertebrates and water samples.
  • Must be comfortable working in and around the water and handling sampling equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; experience with boats and training in limnology and invertebrate zoology also helpful.
  • This is a seasonal, hourly, non-benefited position.
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a driving background check.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Desired start date is approximately May 15th through September 15th, 2017.  On-site housing may be  available.
  • Posting is open until March 17, 2017 or until filled.
  • Position reports to Dr. Stuart Findlay.
