Description

Praxis3 is an award-winning architectural firm in midtown Atlanta looking for talented and energetic people to join our firm. We are a close knit group that has a lot of fun doing what we do. We have an incredible and diverse team of people here that bring together all sorts of expertise from incredible planning, design, project management, technical direction, sustainable initiatives and business development.

As a team we believe we offer a great environment for the right person. We are relatively small and informal and work hard to partner with our clients and develop long-term relationships with repeat business. Over the past year we have had projects in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Our principals and staff have very close ties to the business, academic and arts communities in Atlanta and beyond. And 2008 marks the addition of the Praxis3 kickball team!

Praxis3 is currently 24 people and expects to grow to about 30 people in 2007. We're a close knit group who work hard but like to have a good time while we're there. The dress is casual.

Position Overview

Although we are always interested in talking to great people that we could potentially add to our team, right now we need strong Project Architects for our Automotive / Specialty Retail Studio.

This person should have between 5-10 years of experience focused on the technical side of architecture and construction documents. We need someone who can work with our PMs, clients and consultants, as well as direct architectural interns in putting together quality construction documents.

Ideally we'd love to find someone with Revit experience. Even better would be Revit experience + automotive experience. Neither are required though. Strong technical skills and the ability to work on rewarding fast paced projects is.

Studios
: Praxis3 has 2 primary studios:

Automotive / Specialty Retail Studio - This studio focuses on automotive facilities and the roll-out of specialty retail stores across the United States. The programs are always challenging and the designs are always creative and typically very modern. Praxis3 is a nationwide leader in the design of automotive retail stores. We have completed designs for over 600 stores all across the country and have designed stores for nearly every manufacturer selling cars in the U.S. from Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari, BMW & Mercedes-Benz to Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Honda and everyone in between.

Mixed-Use / Cultural Institutional Studio - This studio focuses on intown mixed-use projects (residential and commercial) as well as small museums and educational facilities - even a fire station! The programs are always challenging and the designs are always very creative.

Technology:

Praxis3 has always been on the cutting edge of technology. All staff members are required to be task jugglers and wear numerous hats. In order to do this it's important to have and know how to use many software tools.

Four years ago Praxis3 switched from AutoCAD to Revit which is a 3D building information modeling system (BIM). It's said by the training instructors for Revit in Atlanta that our staff probably knows more than almost all other firms on how to best use this tool.

In addition, all projects are managed on the internet. The entire design team, clients, contractors and subcontractors have access to private websites for each project. This allows access to all announcements, project drawings and specs, submittal and RFI logs, project directories and project calendars.

Bonuses:

There are three types of bonuses at Praxis3:

Performance Bonus - This bonus is distributed annually and is
determined by the personal growth of the employee and their contribution to the firm as a whole.

Project Bonus - This bonus is distributed to the team working on the project if they exceed the anticipated project budget.

Professional Registration Bonus - This is a bonus given at the time an employee receives their professional license.
