Description

Reporting to the Executive Director and Council of Oxfam Hong Kong, the Programme Director coordinates long-term development and emergency relief programmes in East & South Asia and Africa. Responsibilities include management and administration, staff development, and policy and strategic planning. The Programme Director will represent Oxfam Hong Kong on programme matters in Oxfam International, in international development circles and with the media.

Additional Qualifications:
Essential requirements for this position include: 
*  At least ten years working experience in poverty alleviation and emergency relief work, with a minimum of five years in a management position involving strategic and project planning, budgeting and implementation.
* Possess a sophisticated knowledge of development issues and gender-aware management, administration and human resource development experience.
* Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes to remote areas. 
*  Excellent communication, reporting and negotiating skills in English. Knowledge of Chinese would be highly desirable.
* Commitment to Oxfam's goals.
