Description
Terralingua, a small international non-profit organization that focuses on the links
between biological and cultural diversity, is hiring a Program/Administrative
Associate immediately to assist with a wide array of program, administrative and
organizational development tasks of a small nonprofit, as well as coordinate, edit
and disseminate the newsletter, maintain and update the website, maintain and
update membership lists and assist in the coordination of program activities as
time, skill and interest allow. For the right candidate with appropriate skills and
interest, opportunities for GIS database development and/or research on cutting
edge biocultural diversity issues are available.
As a member of a small staff, the associate will manage all administrative activities
and assist with a variety of fundraising, financial management, project design, and
strategic planning for the organization. Additionally, the staff member may be
responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Terralingua office for extended
periods of time. The individual will work closely with the organizations executive
director, as well as partners and collaborators from academic institutions,
government agencies, international organizations, and non-governmental
organizations from around the world.

opportunity to gain practical experience in all aspects of non-profit program
development and management, as well as in the field of biocultural diversity.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a
can do person who is self-motivated, diligent, and good at working with others.
Careful attention to detail, good judgment and ability to carry out tasks
responsibly and independently required.
Excellent organizational skills are
essential, as are strong written and oral communication skills. Applicants should
have strong knowledge of office computer systems and software (please list in
cover letter and explain level of expertise). Experience with office and financial
management, the design and maintenance of Web pages and sites is a major plus.
Experience with prospect researching for grants is also desirable.
The ideal candidate will be one with considerable administrative experience, an ability
to multi-task, set priorities, and be resourceful in finding solutions, but also with
an interest and experience in conservation, anthropology, and/or linguistics who
has a desire to deepen and broaden his or her experience.
Compensation:
Full-time salary is in the mid-$20,000s to low $30,000s with an option for a
