Description

~ We Care Solar (WCS), with its award-winning Solar Suitcase, has advanced the use of solar electricity in under-resourced health facilities to improve maternal and child health outcomes. ~

Over the past five years, WCS's Suitcases have brought light and essential power to more than 800 health centers in Africa, Asia and Latin America. To date, WCS has trained over 1000 health workers and technicians, and have served over 300,000 mothers and infants.

We Share Solar is an innovative educational program of the non-profit organization, We Care Solar. We Share Solar empowers youth to "learn, build and share." Students learn about the effects of energy poverty on youth in other countries, build compact solar electric systems called Solar Suitcases, and then donate these to schools, orphanages, and community organizations in countries without reliable electricity.
