The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization, founded in 1986, that is dedicated to reducing the economic, social, and environmental costs of energy consumption through cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.  

Position Overview: 

The Program Manager is responsible for the day to day management of Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) and Solar Registration Program (SRP) with responsibility for operations and delivery of services. These 2 initiatives are part of the New Jersey's Clean Energy Programs. As part of a market manager team, VEIC has provided management, staffing and program design services for these programs, and their predecessors since 2006.

The Program Manager participates in the Renewable Management Team (with the Market and Program Leads and the Program Design Advisor). The Program Manager directly supervises the On Site Operations Manager and 2 additional on-site VEIC staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Directs and manages staff to assure high quality, efficient and timely processing of incentives and project registrations.
  2. Provides secondary levels of dispute resolution, and quality control. Manages contractor remediation procedures.
  3. Participates in Renewable Energy Management Team, reporting on incentive and solar registration program progress, issues, and activities.
  4. Responsible for external program communications, with advice and oversight from the Renewable Energy Management Team.
  5. Responsible for implementing program design and delivery strategy changes as determined by Renewable Energy Management Team, Clean Energy Council, and or BPU.
  6. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of program operational guidelines and procedures manual.
  7. Supports VEIC program staff in all aspects of performing their jobs by (among other things) periodically establishing professional development goals, providing regular performance feedback, and providing training and/or other help to facilitate professional development.
  8. Assists with reviews of program performance, and evaluations.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong personal commitment to renewable energy and to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  2. Graduate degree in business, economics, marketing, engineering, public policy or a similar combination of education and experience.
  3. Minimum of 7 years experience within the energy industry or related field with at least 5 years experience in renewable energy and/or energy efficiency programs.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of large, complex projects - including client interaction, maintaining project budgets, and overseeing all aspects of project work.
  5. Extensive knowledge of the latest renewable energy technologies, practices and programs.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication.
  7. Excellent analytical skills.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills, including effectiveness in persuasive communications.
  9. Strong ability to facilitate group discussions and meetings.
  10. Facility with techniques of economic analysis.
  11. Strong ability to handle competing priorities.
  12. Proven ability to be organized, detail oriented and accurate.
  13. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
