~ The Patapsco Heritage Greenway's (PHG) mission is to preserve, protect, interpret and restore the environment, history and culture of the Patapsco River Valley. ~
In 2015, the Patapsco Heritage Greenway celebrated the realization of a major goal when the Patapsco Valley became one of Maryland's 13 certified Heritage Areas. This designation depended upon the unanimous approval of the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area (PVHA) Management Plan by both the Baltimore and Howard County Councils.
Position Overview
The Patapsco Heritage Greenway, Inc. (PHG) is recruiting for a Program Manager to join our team. This Program Manager oversees our environmental stewardship and environmental education programs and assists with other mission-driven programs and events.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include:
- Managing staff;
- Ensuring the success of volunteer-based stewardship programs including watershed cleanups;
- Invasive species removals and tree plantings; and
- Planning other educational activities and events.
Qualifications
- Friendly and outgoing candidates should have management and leadership experience;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Budgeting experience and familiarity with grant writing and reporting;
- We are looking for good communicators familiar with e-news and social media platforms; and
- A candidate's knowledge of the culture, history and environment of the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area is a plus.
Compensation: Salary range: $35,000-$40,000.
