Description

Neighborhood Pride Team (NPT), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community development corporation, is hiring a full time Program Director for its highly successful Trillium Artisans program.

This position is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual whose character combines dedication to the concept of sustainable development with the advanced business, nonprofit and artistic skills critical to implement the vision.

Trillium Artisans works toward a more socially and environmentally healthy business model to achieve economic equity. Trillium Artisans holds a triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit for All.

The program provides support to artisans, primarily women in low income situations, through product development and marketing of their hand crafted products made from salvaged and recycled materials.

Duties:

  • Direct the operations of the Trillium Artisans program, retail store and wholesale outlet to include product development, sales and marketing, artisan/volunteer/staff/ development, sales and revenue projections, inventory control, cash flow management, business and strategic planning within the principles of sustainable development.
  • Maintain a working, representative advisory committee to assist as needed.
  • Work with the Neighborhood Pride Team Executive Director and Fund Development Team to collaboratively identify and secure program funding.
  • Work with the Neighborhood Pride Team Executive Director and other program leadership to integrate and/or expand the Trillium Artisan program in keeping with current and future organizational programs, events and initiatives.
  • Participate in facilities and operations management as a member of the organizational leadership team.
  • Provide regular written reports and accurate program data and participate in weekly leadership/staff meetings.
  • Neighborhood Pride Team is an at-will employer.

Terms:
Salary Range: 34,000 37,000 DOE

Benefits: Medical/Dental, Paid Time Off and Holidays

Schedule: Flexible with some weekends and evenings required

Reports to:Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience demonstrating strong business background including budgeting, inventory, sales projections and revenues, cash flow, business plan creation and implementation.
  • 2-5 years product development experience
  • 2-5 years marketing experience in both wholesale and retail environments for niche/ hand crafted markets.
  • Experience operating a venture within the principles of sustainable development OR ability and desire to learn.
  • Superb people skills emphasizing teamwork, communication, recognizing and cultivating the strengths of others and empowering volunteers to accomplish program goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues facing women in low income situations and a commitment to maintaining a woman-friendly environment emphasizing equal opportunity regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion, economic or ethnic background.
  • Strong leadership skills to include facilitation, presentation and one-on-one mentoring ability.
  • Strong writing skills for both marketing materials and program development.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizational functions and grant writing.
  • Familiarity with Web page development and desktop publishing.
  • Southeast Asian, Eastern European and Spanish language skills a plus.
