The University Sustainability Office is the clearinghouse for campus sustainability; integrating the principles of balanced environmental, social and economic sustainability into the culture of NC State using program development, educational outreach, campus engagement and collaborative partnerships.

Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator will be a part of the North Carolina State University Sustainability Office. This position will work with other units and departments to initiate new campus wide sustainability programs that reduce NC State's environmental impact and integrate sustainability into campus culture. This position will also oversee current programs within the Sustainability Office.
Specific projects will vary depending on current work load and unit need. Two primary projects will include expanding the impact of the 'Change Your State' behavior change campaign as well as developing and launching a student green ambassador program utilizing peer to peer student outreach and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Sustainability Office programs by creating program goals, adhering to project budgets, setting time lines and deadlines, securing partners, completing reports and managing program-specific grants.
- Research, develop and initiate new campus sustainability initiatives and programs inline with campus strategic plans.
- Develop partnerships and program strategies with faculty, staff, students, external community and consultants to find creative resources and solutions for program implementation.
- Serve as main point of contact for program-specific questions/issues.
- Serve on the Campus Environmental Sustainability Team working groups. Assist in the strategic planning efforts and growth of this team.
- Locate funding resources to expand programs.
- Work with Sustainability Communications Coordinator to develop marketing and messaging strategies that increase awareness and involvement in sustainability programs.
- Support campus and office outreach efforts such as giving presentations, educating campus, and playing a role in Earth Day, Campus Sustainability Day, and other events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience in program design and implementation.
- Experience facilitating and coordinating multiple stakeholders toward common goals or recommendations.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and to work with shifting priorities and schedules.
- Ability to locate and interact with networks to gain relevant program information.
- Experience in mentoring and supervising students.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally with supervisors and the general public and understand verbal and written instructions and other communications regarding work assignments and other matters.
Compensation: Anticipated hiring range is $43,000 - $52,000; rangnig evantually up to $70,000.
